They say patience is a virtue, and it is somehow embodied by Southies for several months. After all the waiting, patience finally borne its fruit – the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B is now officially open to serve the Filipinos. Last March 30, 2026, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., together with DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, led the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway – C5 Southlink Segment 3B inauguration, which connects Paranaque to C5 Road Taguig. This 2km section is projected to help in decongesting the traffic flow and improving the mobility of our motorists to the Southern part of Metro Manila.

Opening the segment also means lesser travel time. Motorists are expected to reduce travel time by at least 30 minutes and increase fuel savings which is timely and relevant to the national call to save fuel and energy due to the ongoing fuel crisis. As announced by PBBM during the inauguration, the C5 Link Segment 3B will be toll free for the whole month of April 2026. This announcement benefited thousands of motorists who travelled back to their provinces during the holy week break.

A week before the inauguration, Metro Pacific Tollways South Management Corporation (MPTSMC) Employees together with its contractors and some NLEX Employees, conducted a Fun Run which is a tradition before opening the toll road to the general public. This also serves as a simple celebration of a major CAVITEX milestone. And the best way to celebrate a milestone is with the employees who remains to be committed and aligned to the company’s goal – to build a more mobile nation.
