During the launch program, Atty. Maria Anthonette V. Allones, Chief Human Resources Officer, provided an overview of the MPTC Academy, sharing its vision of creating a structured and accessible learning ecosystem for all employees. Gilbert Santa Maria, President and CEO of MPTC, delivered the keynote message, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning in driving both individual and organizational success.

The launch also kicked off the Oktober Learning Fest, a week-long Learning Caravan designed to bring development opportunities closer to employees across the MPTC Group. The caravan featured learning sessions led by internal subject matter experts across various business units. Topics included Road Traffic Safety, facilitated by Relly Dave Bautista at the MPTC Office in RBC; Finance Essentials: What Every Employee Should Know, led by Dennis Co at RBC; Power BI, facilitated by Jefferson Tan at MPT South; AI in the Workplace, presented by Emil Ruiz, Reven Calbasa, and Joseph “Chunks” Changco at NLEX; and Beyond the Bridge: Sustaining Connections, Communities, and Progress, led by Imare Sheen Gutang at CCLEC. Employees from across the organization participated through a hybrid setup, enabling both onsite and online attendees to join the sessions and learn from experts in their respective fields.

At the heart of the Academy are four learning pillars designed to support employees at every stage of their careers: On-Ramp, which helps new hires transition into the organization; Drive, which develops core workplace skills; Accelerate, which strengthens technical and functional expertise; and Navigate, which supports leaders in enhancing their leadership effectiveness, broadening their perspectives, and continuously growing their ability to lead.

These pillars are anchored on the 70-20-10 learning model, where 70% of learning comes from on-the-job experiences, 20% from coaching and mentoring, and 10% from formal training programs.

To help employees plan their development journey, the MPTC Academy 2027 Learning Portfolio will soon be released across the organization. The portfolio will serve as a guide in creating Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for 2027 and identifying learning opportunities aligned with career goals and business needs.

As the Academy begins its journey, all employees are encouraged to take advantage of the training programs and learning initiatives that will be offered. Every learning opportunity is a chance to grow, build new skills, and contribute to MPTC’s continued success.
